Recipe submitted by Frances Phillips of Visalia for the 1989 Visalia Farmers Market Harvest Cookbook.
4 cups fresh apples, sliced fine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
½ cup oil
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nuts
Brown sugar, to taste
How to Make:
Mix in order given. Put in a greased and floured 9×12 pan. Sprinkle brown sugar on top of the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
